As a licensed massage therapist trained in canine massage, many people raise an eyebrow. “Really, there is such a thing as dog massage?” is the main question. Canine massage was even referenced humorously in an episode of Mad About You (Season 4, episode 6, 1996). Kidding aside, dogs have similar requirements to their human counterparts when it comes to touch, relaxation, and releasing muscle tension. And the other, less obvious benefit is what the hands of a trained therapist can feel, that perhaps is out of the ordinary.
